Dynarex Launches Honey-based Wound Care Dressings

Dynarex, a leading medical supply company and provider of disposable medical products, launches a line of honey-based wound care dressings, which include medical-grade honey, called Dynarex L-Mesitran Honey Dressings. Honey is known to provide numerous healing benefits for injuries ranging from burn wounds to bacterial infections to pressure ulcers.

“Honey has been recognized as a wound healer since the time of Hippocrates,” said Zalman Tenenbaum, President and CEO of Dynarex. “Dynarex is proud to launch this category of honey dressings to complement our existing advanced wound care products such as ActiGuard, CuraFoam, DynaFoam, DynaGinate, DynaGuard, DynaLevin and FoamFlex. These will help our distributors’ customers as they will provide effective healing methods to the various medical facilities and hospitals we serve.”

The line of Dynarex honey-based wound care dressings includes three dressings (Tulle, Border and Hydroactive) and soft wound gels. All contain medical-grade honey, or Manuka honey, where the pollen collected from the manuka bush is transformed into honey — different from store-bought honey. The medical-grade honey’s antiseptic releases hydrogen peroxide, eliminating bacterial activity and effectively treating serious infections. The Tulle, Border and Hydroactive dressings are all 10 x 10 centimeters and are available in quantities of 10 per box and 100 per case. The Dynarex soft wound gels come in 0.5 oz. or 1.75 oz. tubes and are available in quantities of 24 per case.

Key benefits include:

  • Creates moist wound healing environment
  • Stimulates wound healing
  • Removes all materials that may promote infection and impede healing
  • Reduces wound odor
  • Anti-inflammatory
  • Safe, easy and cost effective
