PDI Donates Infection Prevention Supplies To Direct Relief

Direct Relief, a 60-year-old charitable organization that assists communities confronting enormous hardships such as natural disasters and refugee populations, received a much needed donation of Chlorascrub™ from Professional Disposables International, Inc. (PDI).

“As part of our company’s mission to help prevent infections, it’s our corporate obligation to donate materials to organizations such as Direct Relief,” says Zachary Julius, President, PDI. “Direct Relief makes a substantial difference in the lives of individuals who have been challenged by forces that are out of their control. They have the means to distribute our product to those who will need it the most. We are pleased to help in this way.”

During each of the past seven years, each dollar spent by Direct Relief has provided between $21 and $35 (wholesale) of medical materials specifically requested by in-country health professionals to care for patients. Direct Relief provides these materials by either financial donations or, in the case of PDI, puts product directly into the hands of those who need it.

Chlorascrub™ is the only FDA approved Chlorhexidine Gluconate (CHG) product available for use prior to surgery and injection, consisting of 3.15% Chlorhexidine Gluconate (w/v) and 70% Isopropyl Alcohol (v/v). Its unique one-step delivery system with peel-apart packaging makes Chlorascrub™ ready to use and requires no pre-activation or mixing of the CHG/IPA solutions.

For over 30 years, PDI has pioneered the development, testing, manufacturing and marketing of pre-moistened wipes as the optimum delivery system for skin antisepsis, hand hygiene, patient and surface care. With trusted brands including Sani-Cloth®, Sani-Hands® ALC, Sani-Hands® for Kids, Hygea® and Chlorascrub™, PDI serves the healthcare market through hospitals, physician and dental offices, emergency medical services, long-term care, schools and a variety of other healthcare facilities. Professional Disposables International, Inc. is headquartered in Orangeburg, New York. For more information, visit www.pdipdi.com .
