Johnson & Wales University’s College of Health & Wellness

Johnson & Wales University (JWU) is widely recognized for its best-in-class Culinary Arts and Hospitality programs, but the university also wanted to build recognition for its other colleges, particularly the College of Health & Wellness. Based on our expertise in education and healthcare, JWU turned to Rosica for thought leadership and earned media strategy and program support.

Our primary strategy was to focus on “Food as Medicine.” To bring this to life and highlight JWU’s commitment to fusing food, nutrition, science, and healthcare for quality-of-life reasons, we focused on the University’s subject matter experts, new programs, research, and partnerships. The program is centered on driving home key messages about how nutrition affects physical and mental health and overall well-being. It provides practical tips for achieving good nutrition for optimal health and leveraged moments in time like National Nutrition Month. In addition, Rosica consistently positions Luciana Soares, Nutrition and Dietetics Department Director at JWU, as a resource for her clinical nutrition expertise on health and wellness topics ranging from the link between coffee and anxiety to healthy snacks that can help people avoid the “mid-afternoon slump.”

Through these efforts, we’ve generated significant national earned media coverage in prominent health, wellness, food, and lifestyle outlets, strengthening the College of Health & Wellness’ visibility among consumers and healthcare professionals. Coverage includes numerous placements in Martha Stewart Living and Real Simple, plus Health.com, Verywell Health, and Delish. Messages underscore the College’s unique courses and drive families to its website for more information.

By positioning faculty as subject matter experts and thought leaders, Rosica generates publicity that reinforces JWU’s academic offerings, broadens its authority, and elevates its standing as a leading voice in national conversations about nutrition, wellness, and healthcare.
